I suggest applying back-pressure (criticism) on the scheme organisers with a recommendation that they use these forums to get keen and knowledgeable RPi geeks to test-drive and proofread the kits and materials before inflicting them on already-pressured school staff.Īn hour after acknowledgment to the prod to Cisco, the rather old request for assistance to Pimoroni support was answered. I'd love to help but I think the difficulties are more complex than can easily be dealt with via a forum interchange. I can't help feel that it is counter-productive to send out poorly documented and supported kits like this that may well have the effect of conveying the message that this stuff is actually difficult and inaccessible and not for the faint-hearted. I have spent time volunteering in schools as a STEM Ambassador, trying to enthuse students and teachers and persuade them that computing/hacking/making can be fun. This sort of behaviour triggers my righteous indignation! What I need is the right geeks with the right bits of knowledge The scheme organisers launch initiatives and want people to make them look generous and wonderful, firing off emails all over the place to other scheme organisers. I've sent an email to Cisco, who were/are giving them out via, to say their kits are going in the bin.

I know of others who were given one of these kits, who have the same problem. I sent an email to Cisco who is sending the kit out - no answer. I could communicate with the thing well enough to do that, then, I assume.ĭoes that mean it doesn't communicate with the laptop directly but only a local network? If so that will be difficult or impossible because it's at a school - the network is terrible. I did that at the ssid and psk stage (see scan above). So by Wifi I suppose, but if I can't communicate, chicken and egg.Įnable "ssh"? Is this the connection to a network? I don't have a spare monitor or keyboard.
#CDC ACM DRIVER WINDOWS 7 DOWNLOAD#
I assume you mean download one of the files from.

I think I understand what you mean, I hadn't heard of raspbian or Stretch. Shutdown, connect envirophat and power up again

Later we can use putty to connect to the pi from pc.
#CDC ACM DRIVER WINDOWS 7 INSTALL#
Then from a PC install the latest raspbian stretch onto a new micro SD card.Ĭonnect pi to a monitor and keyboard and power onĮnable ssh and set your wireless password. I would start by fitting the header to the pi if you have not already done that
